Girls Volleyball's turnaround season comes to an end

No. 12 Stamford 3, No. 21 Newington 0: An incredible season for the Indians came to a close Monday in the first round of the Class LL state tournament. Winless a season ago, Newington made it all the way to the tournament before getting knocked out by Stamford. Gabby Gratcheve had four kills and two aces while Stasha Greenalch had two aces.

“I wish we could have advanced a little further in the tournament, but the fact that we made it here is a testament of how hard the girls worked from August until now,” Newington coach Pat Douglas said.
